Welcome to our 2024 Otter House Christmas Collection catalogue. The year 2023 marked a remarkable chapter in the history of Otter House as in May, we proudly welcomed the acquisition of the renowned greeting card publisher Splimple. This brought us the treasured Alison’s Animals collection and welcomed the incredibly talented artist, Alison Lingley, into the Otter House family. We are delighted to present fresh and exciting card designs, expanding our range to suit every taste, whether you seek charity donation card packs, the convenience of bumper boxes, or the individuality of single relations cards. Furthermore, our gift packaging collection features new designs of gift wrap, bags, and tissue packs. Building on the success of introducing socks to our offering in 2023, we are thrilled to continue this trend into 2024, ensuring that our catalogue not only offers a varied selection of cards but is also a source of delightful gift ideas. Passionate puzzlers will be captivated by our collection of over 35 festive designs that span 1,000 and 500 piece jigsaws, each featuring a large, printed insert and conscientiously packaged in environmentally friendly paper envelopes. In addition to our retail collections, we offer a tailored design service, available to both retail and charity customers, where we create bespoke, personalised designs. Our close collaboration with charity partners ensures that their brand message shines through, creating meaningful and purposeful products. So, whether it’s cards, stationery, calendars, or gifts, our expertise will bring your distinctive vision and brand identity to life. Don’t forget to explore our Card, Stationery & Gift Packaging and Gift Collection catalogues for an even wider array of products. Thank you for choosing Otter House, where every design tells a story. Kirsty Guy Managing Director Stepping into 2024 with Otter House... As 2024 begins, we’re delighted to take a moment and tell you about our successes over 2023, and what we’re working on for this year: SBTI - NET ZERO • We are on track to hit our published SBTi target to reduce our emissions by 46% by 2030 • We’ve been working with suppliers to put them on their own SBTi pathway with one supplier signing up in early 2023 and another four partners close to completion • We expect to get 70% of calendar printers signed up to Net Zero targets by 2024. Our published target was 50% of our suppliers being SBTi committed by 2025, so we should smash our supplier engagement target Product Development • Over 88% of our own published calendars are now in plastic-free packaging, that’s 525 titles out of 595 • 110,000 packs of our bespoke charity Christmas cards have now moved to biodegradable packaging Electric Car Scheme Having added charging points, and changed company vehicles to EV/PHEV or hybrid, we have now launched our Electric Car Scheme which will help our members of staff to obtain a lease for an electric car. This will help us to reduce our carbon footprint and simultaneously help staff achieve their own personal eco goals. Wildlife Garden We’ve sown and natured a wide variety of plants and flowers in our new wildlife garden on our industrial estate. We’re thrilled to be welcoming not only a broadening range of biodiversity but also increasing numbers of staff members who take advantage of the peaceful surroundings on their lunchbreak or before the busy day begins. What do we have planned for 2024? • Having successfully changed our warehouse lighting to LED many years ago, we’re now improving our office lighting, moving from traditional light sources to LED panels saving around 1.5 tCO2e per annum • We’re rolling out head office on-site waste sortation which will help improve the knowledge of our waste stream and maximise our recycling and composting • We’re moving more product to soya-based ink printing reducing chemical use and waste • We’re developing product further to remove even more plastic from our ranges • We’re improving our eco messaging to help our end consumers reuse and recycle our products We’ve got another busy year ahead, but we welcome the challenge to move us closer to net zero. Our Commitment to Achieving Net Zero
